| The abundance of things to do in Kanab, Utah and the surrounding area is overwhelming. With land so vast and geologic features so wild, we will plan couple days in the area to truly start to comprehend the beauty of southern Utah. Throw our name in the lottery each morning for the coveted Wave permit and head out on a new adventure each day. Here are some unique experiences in the area that aren’t the Wave, but still win your hearts forever!
Day 1 (Thu Nov 4) Bay Area - Las Vegas Begin the spiritual journey into the wilderness. Head to Las Vegas in the evening after work. Hotel: Bally's Las Vegas Hotel & Casino or Similar (****) Day 2 (Fri Nov 5) Kanab (L, D) Leaving Vegas hotels at 9 AM. * Visit Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park Sand dunes - Hiking and sand boarding are fun ways to explore the park. * Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument A vast and true wilderness, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is chock full of slot canyons, paleontological remains, Native American artifacts, and layers upon layers of geologic history and colors. Overnight at Beautiful Vacation Home in Kanab. (7 Bedrooms + 4 Bathrooms / 16+guest / 4200 sqft). Day 3 (Sat Nov 6) Kanab - Buckskin Gulch (B, D) Many people rate Buckskin Gulch as their all-time favorite hike. Located 46 miles East of Kanab, Utah. Spend a day wandering through the deepest slot canyon in the southwest! The steep walls of Buckskin Gulch are simply enchanting. Day hike in this canyon, you can venture as far as you like, enjoy a packed lunch and then head back. Overnight at Beautiful Vacation Home in Kanab. (7 Bedrooms + 3 Bathrooms / 11 beds/ 4200 sq-ft). Day 4 (Sun Nov 7) Kanab - White Pocket (B, L) Many locals prefer White Pocket, even more stunning and does not require a permit. Located 75 miles East of Kanab, Utah. The area of White Pocket on the Paria Plateau in Northern Arizona is very impressive indeed! While many are lured and wait their turn to visit the infamous “Wave” in the North Coyote Buttes, the “White Pocket” area to the east is seldom visited. Maybe because of its remoteness or the requirement of 4WD to access the area. The impressive White Pocket will fill the senses beyond imagination! The drive to the swirling, twisted, multicolored natural artwork is an adventure in its own right, and the exploration by foot is endless. “White Pocket” will surely become “top of the top” in the list of special places. This area has colors, shapes and textures that are hard to beat! Back to Vegas in the late afternoon. Arrive Las Vegas for a fun filled evening with group dinner optional. Hotel: Bally's Las Vegas Hotel & Casino or Similar (****) Day 5 (Mon Nov 8) Las Vegas - Home Town Fly back to the San Francisco Bay Area in the early morning with fantastic memories of the trip! Amazing Trip Cost: $538 Inclusions: * 4-nights Hotel or Vacation home accommodations * Transportation * Event Host * 6 Meals Exclusions: * Airfares to Las Vegas. * Some meals during the trip (Unless specified) * Tips to the drivers. Trip Cancellation Policy: Cancellation penalties apply to all our trips. A minimum administrative fee of $50 for 3 Day Plus Trips. In the event a cancellation occurs before a trip leaves and a replacement is found, deposits and payments will be refunded, less the admin fee and any fees charged by the hotel (if applicable).  |
